Physical / Facility Security Officer

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Physical/Facility Security Officer (PFSO) will provide daily physical and administrative security support while interfacing with both program management and the government. The position will be responsible for all physical, information, personnel security, risk management, and security education and awareness for the company. Working in concert with management the candidate you will provide a variety of security related services, support and guidance to both physical security and administering personnel clearances.

Essential Functions

Physical Security Officer (PSO)

  • Conduct physical security and risk vulnerability inspections, evaluate and provide recommendations

  • Review facilities designs regarding where sensitive materials are located

  • Evaluate existing security procedures

  • Apply appropriate security standards

  • lead security awareness training for personnel

  • Recommend actions to avoid conditions conducive to threats such as vandalism, terrorism or theft

  • Evaluate clearances for management and personnel according to the information and property they may access

  • Manage proximity card program and oversee visitor control procedures

  • Provides physical audits of corporate facilities based on developed standards and provides written reports to include corrective action recommendations to findings

  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed.

 

Facility Security Officer (FSO)

  • Interfaces with DCSA / DSS and other government agencies for all industrial security issues

  • Maintains security programs in compliance with DCSA policies and maintaining security standards and practices in maintaining a Top-Secret security clearance

  • Have a working knowledge of DD 254 practices

  • Have a working knowledge of ACAPS and other DOD systems

  • Review SF86's for accuracy and completeness before submission

  • Prepares and processes sponsorship documentation as required for DCSA / DSS to process sub-contractor FCLs as required

  • Reviews and investigates non-compliance security issues

  • Investigates and eliminates unsafe and unethical security practices

  • Provides consulting support and makes recommendations, improvements, or enhancements to corporate facility/site management on security and safety related issues

  • Maintain all security documentation and files accurately for document control, visitor control, and personnel security actions

  • Provide operational support; document classification reviews, receipt, control and accountability of classified materials, visit authorizations, SAP programs, Indoctrinations, debriefings

  • Provide oversight of the processing of new employee security clearances including tracking within JPAS (Joint Personnel Adjudication System) and Defense Information System for Security (DISS)

  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed.

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.  Hours or work are usually Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.  Hours may be discussed with supervisor. (MAETS does not feel that the workload for the FSO is equivalent to that of the PSO.  The workshare is PSO – 70% and FSO – 30%.)

 

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business and two (2) plus years of related experience; OR

  • Associate’s Degree in Business and four (4) years of managerial or business related experience; OR

  • High School diploma and six (6) years of related experience.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Top Secret Security Clearance

  • Favorable Background Check
